Aruba…here we come

04 Feb

:::::UPDATE:::::
Since so many people always ask me questions about this post, i decided to post a little more about this trip. So check it out here.

In just 9 days, we will be in Aruba.  It’s my first time leaving the country…and I am VERY excited to be turning 27 somewhere other than the United States.

We are spending Wednesday the 13th until Monday the 18th.  Everything is inclusive…but not in a tacky, spring break, sandals resort type of way.  While all drinks are included, we have a minibar which looks like this.

Not to mention free room service.  But I’m mostly excited about the beach and the crystal clear water.  Plus they have casinos.  So I’m pretty sure I will be busy the ENTIRE time.  I’ll be back tanner than ever.  Cause youre damn right im gonna be layin out every second i can.

Be jealous bitches….be jealous.

    Hi –

    not sure if you’re still posting on this site or not – but came across this while searching for images of Aruba.

    My Wife and I are planning on staying at the Occidental in Aruba – any good suggestions for places to go / things to see while down there?

    Thanks!

      not sure if you went yet or not…. but basically the island is all gorgeous. the touristy part is where all the hotels are… and a little bit of the downtown. i would suggest renting a car and just driving around the island. we got one, went offroading (by accident), and got to see all the other parts of the island. i felt pretty safe. we drove around back dirt roads for a VERY long time. got lost. but it didnt scare me though cause its such a small island… i would eventually come out of the back roads at some point, right? all in all… i would say travel around the island as much as possible.

      and the BEST place to eat is called the Flying Fishbone. you will have to rent a car or get a taxi to it. its kind of far (which was really the reason why we rented the car). its on the same side of the island as the airport. but farther south. on the beach

        I’m thinking about going either here or cancun with my girlfriend this summer, I’d probably enjoy aruba more cause I’m guessing its less crowded? But you seem to know it pretty well so i gotta few questions if you’d be willing to awnser them.. first how old do you have to be to rent cars there cause i know in the states it’s 23. Second would be do the beaches really look like that top picture?? And last whats the legal age limit for drinking? -We’re both 18.

        Thanks in advance.

        im not sure how old you have to be to rent a car. but what i do remember about renting a car was the fact that they kept on hold a couple hundred bucks. we didnt realize when we rented it. they basically held a couple hundred dollars the entire time we were there. but i dont know if that was just our company, or how they do it in general.
        the drinking age i am not sure of either. im sure google would answer that for you. if i had to guess i would say 18. but thats just a guess.
        and the beaches were awesome. when we rented the car we drove up and down the coast with all the hotels. each spot we went to had a different type beach. one was very rocky with deep blue water crashing. then a little farther down it was calm clear and blue water. and one beach even had big old boats that were above ground and blown up. very cool. id recommend aruba over cancun for sure. i just went to mexico. flew into cancun and stayed in an island right off of it. but driving through cancun… id definitely say aruba was a clear winner.

    I went to Aruba last year with my boyfriend and his family and we stayed at a time share that was a penthouse bc there were 10 of us going.. We had rented quads for a day and took them into the desert and did a little off-roading n then if ur in the desert definetly look around we found climbing trails along the rocks and we spent all day rock climbing you have to bring your own set of gear if your planning on doing that.. I wouldn’t suggest doing it if it’s ur first time bc climbing is a dangerous sport but it was gorgeuos n we had all bought our own snorkle gear n we took the jeep we rented out almost everyday to jus stop n go snorkling.. Deff go to baby beach it’s crowded but it’s like a lil cove it’s amazing.. N deff rent quads n take it to the natural pool it’s kinda scary getting there so be careful!! N the resorts r gorgeous go to the Marriott n check out the birds in the back Im pretty sure it was the Marriott n the drinking age was 18 they pretty much didn’t Id u bc ur American n they want the money lol We loved it so much that were actually goin back in June with everyone again!! Hope that helped anyone if ur into doing activities while being on vacation 🙂 n go shopping it’s duty free!!
